Got a bit depressed last night.

Actually, more than a bit.

In fact, very.

Thankfully, there is always the necessary music (and music… and more music…) to get me through. I pity the neighbours listening in at 2-4am.

I have since been feeling like getting all corny and since I am awful at writing poetry I thought I’d plagiarise* Sharon Ardern. Hope she feels better now.

I am being constantly portcanned by some wanker in my ISP’s subnet. Wish they would do something about it. Seems like a drone to me. It also seems people have hooked up their scanners to p2p clients they’re running.

BTW go get Shareaza it is free and does most big networks.

Installed a full complement of security tools now. I have snort hooked up to a mysql database and am using ACID to see the results. Works ok but it won’t detect the portscanning. Bleh.

Gave up on the NetGear router it couldn’t handle the p2p connection storms so I reverted to the extremely annoying 2.6.7 kernel with speedtouch 330 adsl modem. That thing will not work properly… Still it works 90% of the time and I’m happy. It is such a bitch to set up on 2.6 kernels I just won’t bother with it for a while.
